PST4YOUTH

PST4Youth strengthens young people's ability to understand, assess, and improve the environments in which they grow up. The project brings together youth and public health actors to jointly adapt and implement the Place Standard Tool specifically for adolescents. By combining scientific knowledge with participatory methods of working with young people, the project develops an evidence-based tool that is truly accessible to young people.

The initiative promotes discussion groups in which young people and adolescents can reflect on their living conditions, express their needs, and collaborate with local stakeholders to create healthier and more inclusive environments. Through co-creation workshops, training activities, and local pilot processes, the project ensures that young people are not only consulted but actively involved in the design of the tool and its use to influence local action.

The methodology is based on cross-sector cooperation, participatory design, and iterative testing. Youth workers and public health professionals collaborate closely, supported by scientific evaluation that documents the tool's usability, acceptance, and impact. The project also develops a comprehensive manual for youth workers, enabling long-term use of the tool beyond the project's duration.

At the end of the project, the Spanish version (Entornos de Vida) will be available, along with the six versions from the other participating countries, of the PST4Youth tool and the corresponding educational materials. These results will help youth organizations, municipalities, and health institutions to integrate young people's perspectives into local planning and health promotion strategies. The ultimate goal of the project is to strengthen youth participation, improve local living environments, and build sustainable bridges between youth work and public health sectors across Europe.
