The scientific unit of business innovation (UCIE in Spanish) is developed within the framework of two of the objectives established in the Strategic Plan 2020-2024 of the Fisabio Foundation: to carry out a comprehensive promotion of R&D&I at territorial level through the cooperation of all the agents involved in its development, especially in those priority areas derived from the analysis of the current situation (1); and to guide the activities carried out to develop innovative and pioneering initiatives in their fields of action, with direct impact on the population of the Valencian Community.
The UCIE is structured around the following mission, vision and values.
➥ Mission: to improve the competitiveness of the Valencian Community in health topics through the promotion of public-private collaboration.
➥ Vision: to constitute a backbone for the main actors in R&D&I in health, both public and private, to facilitate their collaboration in health innovation.
➥ Values: to foster public-private cohesion in the Valencian Region; to promote the open and inclusive participation of all the agents of the Valencian Innovation System; to support responsible and environmentally friendly innovation; to promote industrialization and transfer in the Valencian Region.
