Trials@Home

Trials@Home aims to reshape the design, conduct and operations of clinical trials by analysing, developing and piloting standards, recommendations and tools to define and implement RDCTs. To this end, the project seeks to design and implement a pan-European pilot project for RCTs based on: a) best practices in trials with RCT elements, b) the evaluation of the latest technological tools, c) the regulatory and ethical framework and any changes needed to facilitate RCTs, and d) stakeholders' perspectives on the shift from classic RCTs to RCTs with strong patient involvement. Finally, the results of these evaluations and the pilot will drive the formulation and dissemination of recommendations and tools for the implementation of RDCTs in Europe with the ultimate goal of improving the speed, quality and efficiency of clinical trials and improving patient access to innovative treatment strategies.
