Spectral Transmission of intraocular lenses and contact lenses
They investigate the characteristics of the different filters implemented in the intraocular lenses. These filters primarily try to protect the retina from ultraviolet radiation, although there are also those which filter part of the blue radiation with the aim to mimic the characteristics of an ageing crystal.

The behaviour of these filters, not only in sunlight but also with different types of artificial lighting, is studied in order to optimize the balance between photoprotection and photoreception, so as to provide the best protection to the retina without preventing better vision.
